The Seoul Drama Awards were held with the intention of broadcasting to announce dramas from around the world to Korea and to introduce Korean dramas to the world. Sponsored by the Korea Broadcasting Association and KBS, MBC, SBS, and EBS Broadcasting, the purpose of the event is to create an award for the continued maintenance and development of the Korean Wave, and for the Korean drama to enter the global market beyond Asia.
